Takedown & Storage guide

Takedown & Storage: The Half of Christmas Lighting Nobody Talks About

Every display comes down eventually — and how it comes down decides what next year costs. Here is why the takedown is as important as the install.

Takedown, Storage & Maintenance

5 best practices for takedown & storage

1

January, not February

Lights up past mid-January read as neglect, not cheer. Professional takedown crews clear displays zone by zone in the first weeks of the year.

2

Label everything or lose the design

A display coiled and labeled by roofline goes back up next year exactly as designed. A bin of tangles means paying for a redesign.

3

Cold-weather takedown is skilled work

Frozen clips and brittle wire snap in careless hands. Slow, careful removal is what lets the same materials serve for years.

4

Storage conditions matter

Attic heat and garage moisture kill bulbs and wire. Climate-reasonable, organized storage is why professionally kept displays last.

5

Renew before you forget

The best install windows go to returning clients who re-sign at takedown. If you loved the display in December, lock next year in January.

Takedown & Storage questions, answered

Is takedown really included?
Yes — takedown and storage are part of every package, not add-ons. The price you get on your Zoom quote is the whole season, start to finish.
When do the lights come down?
January, zone by zone. If you have a preference inside the month, tell us and we will note it on your account.
Where are my lights stored?
In our storage facility, coiled and labeled by home. Next October your exact display goes back up without a redesign.
What does renewing for next year look like?
One text. Renewal clients get first pick of install windows and renewal-exclusive decor pricing — most of our book re-signs before January is over.
